Capacitive Pressure Transmitter Working Principle
Capacitive pressure transmitter is a device that uses high and low pressure chambers for pressure transmission. Its working principle mainly uses an isolation diaphragm for pressure transmission.
When pressure acts indirectly on the surface of metal measuring diaphragms (elastic measuring elements) of different thicknesses through the isolation diaphragm and the pressure-guiding medium, the diaphragm will undergo slight deformation. The maximum deformation does not exceed 0.1m. The high-precision measurement circuit will The slight deformation is converted into a voltage signal that is linearly related to the differential pressure signal.
After linearization, temperature compensation. Then a dedicated chip is used to convert this voltage signal into an industry standard 4-204 current signal or 1-5V voltage signal.
Some capacitive pressure transmitters use a vacuum pressure chamber, while others use a liquid pressure chamber. Either way it works the same. They are all used to sense the flow and transportation of different pressures and transmit signals. The diaphragm can be adjusted using digital controls to vary voltage and current flow.
The high sensitivity of the metal capacitive pressure sensor and the high precision integrated circuit used in the measurement diaphragm detection circuit. Contains linear and temperature compensation circuits internally. Therefore, the entire transmitter can achieve high accuracy and stability.
Metal capacitive pressure sensors have extremely high overload resistance and excellent performance in micro-pressure measurement. It is a must-have product for various complex industrial environment sites.

Capacitive Pressure Sensor Advantages and Disadvantages
1. Advantages of capacitive pressure sensors
Non-contact: Because the principle of capacitive sensors is to measure physical quantities through changes in capacitance. Therefore it does not require direct contact with the object being measured. Contamination and wear can be prevented to a certain extent.
High sensitivity: The output signal of capacitive sensors is weak. However, the capacitance change is closely related to the measured physical quantity. Therefore, its sensitivity is higher than other sensors (such as thermistors). It can meet the measurement needs in various complex environments.
Fast response speed: The capacitive sensor has a fast response speed and can see timely feedback.
Has a linear range: Capacitive sensors have a linear relationship due to the relationship between capacitance and the physical quantity being measured. Therefore, its measurement range is wider. And can be adjusted according to needs.
Low power consumption: Since no DC current passes through the sensor element, the power consumption is minimal.
Temperature compensation: Capacitive pressure sensors are not very sensitive to temperature changes. And configure automatic temperature compensation.
High overload: Can withstand temporary overpressure conditions.
2. Disadvantages of capacitive pressure sensors
Sensitive to electromagnetic interference: Capacitive sensors are greatly affected by the external electromagnetic environment and may produce interference signals.
Relatively high cost: Capacitive sensors usually require high conversion accuracy and fine tuning. Therefore the cost is relatively high.
