FMCW 80GHz Radar Level Transmitter

80GHz Radar Level Transmitter is also called frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar level meter, which is a higher frequency radar level meter. Has higher measurement accuracy. Suitable for non-contact measurement of liquid or solid material level in special environments such as high temperature, steam, dust, etc.

  • Millimeter wave radar. The measurement accuracy can reach up to ±1mm;
  • The minimum blind area of ​​measurement is 0.1m;
  • The range can reach: 0.1m~30m/0.3~150m
    PTFE, 304, 316 stainless steel materials are optional;

80GHz Radar Level Transmitter Description

80GHz radar level transmitter series products refer to frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar products working at (76~81) GHz. The products have multiple models, with a range of up to 150m and a blind area of ​​8cm.

Its main advantages are smaller emission angle, more concentrated energy, stronger echo signal, and stronger penetration. It also has higher measurement accuracy. It can be used for measurement in a variety of occasions and is more stable and reliable than other radar products.

Because it has a higher operating frequency and shorter wavelength, it is particularly suitable for solid applications. The working method of transmitting and receiving electromagnetic waves through lenses has unique advantages in high dust and harsh temperature environments.

The instrument provides flange or threaded connection methods, making installation convenient and easy.

The general principle of FMCW radar level meter is: The radar transmits electromagnetic waves on the tank top, and the electromagnetic waves are received by the radar after being reflected by the medium. The frequency difference δf between the received signal and the transmitted signal is proportional to the distance R from the medium surface: R=C (speed)*δf (frequency difference)/2/K (frequency modulation slope).

The speed of light C and the frequency modulation slope K are known. Therefore, by estimating the frequency difference δf, the distance R from the material surface at the radar installation position can be obtained. Then, by subtracting the spatial distance from the radar to the material surface (referred to as the empty height) from the known total height of the tank, the height of the material level can be obtained.
