Easy and Efficient Ultrasonic Flow Meters
Ultrasonic Flow Meter uses the time difference caused by the different forward and reverse propagation speeds of ultrasonic signals to calculate the velocity of the measured fluid.
●Measurement linearity is better than 0.5%, repeatability accuracy is better than 0.2%, and measurement accuracy reaches ±1%;
●Ultrasonic sensors can be selected from external clamp type, plug-in type, and pipe segment type;
●The host of ultrasonic flowmeter can be hand-held, wall-mounted, fixed, or modular, etc.;
●With 3 analog input interfaces with an accuracy of 0.1%, which can be connected to signals such as temperature, pressure, liquid level, etc.;
●1 channel 4-20 mA analog output can be used as a flow/heat transmitter.
●Two 3-wire PT100 resistance signal inputs can be used as heat meters.
●3 channels of 4-20 mA analog input, which can be used as a data collector, and the analog input interface can also be used as a digital input interface.
Ultrasonic flow meters can measure without coming into contact with the fluid, which reduces equipment wear and maintenance costs.
It can be installed online under pressure, and the production pipeline does not need to be shut down during construction. There is no need to disconnect the pipe welding flange, which saves the time and expense of the user unit.
The clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter does not need to damage the pipeline during flow measurement. The probe can directly contact the straight pipe section without pressure loss. Flow measurement can be carried out on already installed pipes.
Ultrasonic flow meters have a wide range of applications and can be configured from DN15 to DN6000. Achieve flow measurement of pipes of different diameters at the lowest cost.

Easy and Efficient Ultrasonic Flow Meters Applications
Sewage treatment plant
Ultrasonic flow meters can be used to monitor flow changes in sewage treatment plants, helping workers understand the efficiency of sewage treatment and the improvement of water quality.
At the same time, through the analysis of flow data, the sewage treatment process can be optimized and operating costs can be reduced.
Cooling system
In industrial production, cooling water is indispensable. Ultrasonic flow meters can be used to monitor the flow and temperature of cooling water to help workers understand the operating status of the cooling system.
Agricultural irrigation
In agricultural irrigation, accurate measurement and management of irrigation water can help achieve rational utilization of water resources and optimize agricultural production. Ultrasonic flow meters have the characteristics of wide measurement range and low power consumption, and are suitable for flow measurement in agricultural irrigation.
Simultaneous measurement of heat and flow
Adding a temperature sensor to the ultrasonic flowmeter can form an ultrasonic heat meter. Calculating the heat of an object by measuring the changes in ultrasonic waves propagating through the object provides an accurate, real-time method of measuring heat.
More Information
How does an ultrasonic flow meter work?
When an ultrasonic beam propagates in a liquid, the flow of the liquid will cause a slight change in the propagation time, and the change in the propagation time is proportional to the flow rate of the liquid.
At zero flow, the time required for both sensors to emit and receive sound waves is exactly the same (the only technology that can actually measure zero flow).
When liquid flows, the sound wave transmission time in the counter-current direction is greater than the sound wave transmission time in the downstream direction.
Its relationship conforms to the following expression:
in:
θ is the angle between the sound beam and the liquid flow direction;
M, is the number of linear propagation times of the sound beam in the liquid;
D is the inner diameter of the pipe;
Tup is the propagation time of the sound beam in the forward direction;
Tdown is the propagation time of the sound beam in the reverse direction;
ΔT=Tup –Tdown;
Are ultrasonic flow meters accurate?
Sino-Inst’s mono-channel ultrasonic flowmeter has an accuracy of better than ±1% and a thermal measurement accuracy of better than ±2%.
The accuracy of the two-channel ultrasonic flowmeter can be even higher. High-sensitivity detectors can be configured to provide stronger, more stable signals and small measurement errors.
The measurement accuracy of ultrasonic flowmeters can meet the requirements of most process flow measurement and monitoring.
