Best Differential Pressure Flow Meters - Featured Types
Differential pressure flow meters (DP Flow Meters) use the pressure difference generated when the fluid flows through the throttling device to measure flow. Consists of a throttling device and a differential pressure transmitter.
● Standard throttling parts are used around the world and recognized by international standards organizations. It can be put into use without real flow calibration. This is also unique among flow meters.
● The structure is easy to copy, simple, strong, stable and reliable performance, and better price.
● Wide range of applications, including all single-phase fluids (liquid, gas, steam) and partially mixed-phase flows. Generally, there are products based on the pipe diameter and working conditions (temperature, pressure) of the production process.
● The detection parts and differential pressure display instruments can be produced by different manufacturers to facilitate specialized scale production.
● Can be customized for harsh measurement conditions. Especially high temperature, high pressure, super large pipe diameter, etc.
Featured Differential Pressure Flow Meters Types
We at Sino-Inst manufacture and supply the most popular types of differential pressure flow meters. Including orifice type, Annubar, V-cone, Venturi, etc. Support customization of measurement parameters!
Differential pressure flow meters can accurately measure various fluids and ensure their measurement accuracy. Generally it can reach ±0.5%. Temperature and pressure compensation can be performed to improve measurement accuracy.
The differential pressure flowmeter is a stable and reliable flowmeter with the advantages of long life and not susceptible to external interference.
Differential pressure flow meters are very simple to use. You only need to install the sensor at the front and rear of the pipe where the flow needs to be detected, and the calculator can directly obtain the flow value.
Differential pressure flowmeter is suitable for various fluids such as liquid, gas, steam and so on. Applicable to many fields, such as petroleum, chemical industry, environmental protection, water conservancy, etc.

Differential Pressure Flow Meters Types
Differential pressure flowmeters are classified according to the type of detection parts: they can be divided into orifice flowmeters, venturi flowmeters, nozzle flowmeters, V-cone flowmeters, velocity-averaging tube flowmeters, Annubar flowmeters, etc.
What is differential pressure from flow?
The flow pressure difference is the pressure difference on both sides of a point caused by the different flow speeds of flowing objects (such as air, water).
Differential pressure flow meters can be used to measure the flow of fluids based on Bernoulli’s equation. The basic principle is to use the fluid passing through the flow meter to increase the fluid speed and decrease the pressure. The following calculation formula can be derived from Bernoulli’s equation:
Q = C * A * √(2 * ΔP / ρ)
in:
Q is the flow rate,
C is the flow coefficient, which represents the accuracy and precision of the differential pressure flowmeter,
A is the fluid cross-sectional area,
ΔP is the differential pressure value,
ρ is the fluid density.
It should be noted that different models and types of differential pressure flowmeters may have different calculation formulas and parameters. Therefore, the corresponding formulas and parameter values will be given in the specific instructions for use of the differential pressure flowmeter.
