Insertion Turbine Flow Meter for Large Pipes

Insertion Turbine Flow Meter can be widely used to measure the flow and total volume of liquids such as source water, circulating water, and purified water in large-diameter pipelines.

1. Turbine flow sensors are divided into two types: tangential and axial types;
2. Strong resistance to impurities, the tangential impeller can release impurities in the fluid at any time when rotating. Keep it from wrapping around the blades of the impeller;
3. The instrument coefficient remains unchanged after replacing the impeller and bearing;
4. The installation and removal of sensors with stop valves do not require flow interruption;
5. The purchase, installation and maintenance costs of complete sets of flow meters are low.

Insertion Turbine Flow Meter Description

The tangential and axial insertion turbine flow sensors (sensors for short) are matched with the display instrument (converter part) to form an insertion turbine flow meter.

As an Insertion Flow Sensor, its cost is low. It can be widely used to measure the flow and total volume of liquids such as source water, circulating water, and purified water in large-diameter pipelines.

It has a simple structure, high signal-to-noise ratio and strong anti-interference (especially vibration interference) ability. Although there are rotating parts in the sensor, it can ensure a long enough service life due to the use of new wear-resistant and wear-reducing materials.

Even in special circumstances (such as damage caused by large foreign objects in the pipeline) the impeller needs to be replaced. The instrument coefficient remains unchanged after replacing the impeller and bearings.

Insertion Type Turbine Flow Meter Applications

The liquid turbine flowmeter has the characteristics of simple structure, light weight, high precision, good reproducibility, sensitive response, and easy installation, maintenance and use.

It is widely used to measure liquids in closed pipelines with stainless steel 1Cr1 NigTi, 2Cr13, corundum A2O3, and cemented carbide that do not corrode, have no fibers, particles and other impurities, and have a kinematic viscosity less than 5×10-6m2s at working temperature.

For liquids with kinematic viscosity greater than 5×10-61s, the flowmeter can be used after real liquid calibration.

If matched with a display instrument with special functions, it can also perform quantitative control, over-quantity alarm, etc. It is an ideal instrument for flow measurement and energy saving.

The insertion turbine flowmeter is specially used to measure the flow and total volume of liquids such as source water, circulating water, and purified water in large-diameter pipelines.

More Detail

What is an insertion flow meter?

Insertion flowmeter is a type of flowmeter divided according to structural form, which includes various flowmeters with different working principles.

There are many forms of insertion flow meters that have been popularized. According to the working principle of the detection head of the insertion flow meter, it can be divided into insertion turbine flow meter, insertion vortex flow meter, insertion electromagnetic flow meter, velocity averaging tube and thermal flow meter. Type flowmeter, etc.; according to the number of measuring points of the insertion flowmeter, it can be divided into two categories: point flow type and runoff type.

What is the difference between inline and insertion flow meter?

Insertion flow meter and inline flow meter are mainly distinguished by the different installation methods.

Insertion flow meters are suitable for temporary or semi-permanent flow measurement. The meter’s probe is inserted into the process pipe. One of the main advantages of the Insertion flow meter is that it is easy to install; in addition, for large-diameter pipes, the measurement cost is also more advantageous.

Inline flow meters are generally permanently installed on the measuring pipe. It is necessary to cut a section of the pipe and then install the flow meter. Compared with the Insertion flow meter, the Inline flow meter has higher measurement accuracy.
