Insertion Type Ultrasonic Flow Meter for Most Industrial Pipes

Insertion ultrasonic flow meters work on the principle of Transit Time difference. Ultrasonic sensors are inserted into the surface of closed pipes. Online non-stop flow installation, maintenance and replacement of sensors are possible.

  1. It solves the problem of weak signal and abnormal measurement when using externally bound sensors when the inner wall of the pipeline is scaled or severely corroded. It can also be installed on cement pipelines;
  2. The special drilling tool used allows the sensor to be installed and maintained under pressure without stopping production. There is no pressure loss, ensuring normal and stable production operation.
  3. The ultrasonic emitting crystal of the sensor is in direct contact with the liquid being measured. Improved measurement accuracy and machine operation stability;
  4. Compared with electromagnetic flowmeters, it is economical, reliable and accurate to use on large diameters.

Insertion Type Ultrasonic Flow Meter Description

Insertion ultrasonic flowmeter is a type of ultrasonic flowmeter. This is also the principle of using the time difference method. The form of the sensor has been changed, and the installation method has been changed to plug-in type.

Insertion type ultrasonic flow meter is a product that combines the advantages of clamp on sensors and standard pipe sensors. The sensor can be in contact with the liquid to be measured, making it possible to measure a wider range of liquids. At the same time, complex pipes that cannot be measured by external clamp sensors can be measured, such as cement pipes.

Can be installed online under pressure. There is no need to close the production pipeline or disconnect the pipeline welding flange during construction.

Insertion Type Ultrasonic Flow Meter Applications

From the perspective of measurement media, ultrasonic flow meters can measure both conductive liquids, such as water, and non-conductive liquids, such as desalted water and pure water. There are also various special media such as sewage, mud, mineral pulp, paper pulp, chemical fiber pulp, corn syrup, fruit juice, alcohol, drugs, plasma, etc. As long as it is a single uniform and stable ultrasonic transmission liquid, it can be measured.

There are 5 conditions for using insertion ultrasonic flowmeter:

  1. When the pipe diameter is larger;
  2. When the lining is tight;
  3. When there is severe scaling in the pipeline;
  4. When pipes are poor conductors of ultrasonic waves;
  5. When the clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter probe cannot reach the required signal strength or the measurement is unstable.

In the above situation, an insertion flow meter may be considered.
