What is an ultrasonic level switch?
Ultrasonic level switch is a switch device that uses ultrasonic technology to detect liquid level. It can detect the liquid level height and is widely used in various industrial settings. It is usually composed of a transmitter, a receiver, an amplifier, a circuit board and a casing. When using an ultrasonic level switch, it needs to be placed above the liquid to be detected or on the outside of the tank to be detected. It is non-touching with the liquid surface.
What is the difference between a level switch and a level transmitter?
Function and working principle
Level switch: The output signal of the level switch is usually a switch signal. There are only two states, open and closed, which is used to control the on and off of the circuit. The level switch is mainly used to control the height of the liquid level. When the measured liquid medium reaches a certain indication position, the level switch will output an alarm signal to control the continued transmission or stop of the liquid medium. For example, when the water level in the water tank rises to the full water level, the float or float touches the switch, turning on the switch and emitting a sound signal or control signal.
Level transmitter: The level transmitter emphasizes “change” and “transmission”. When the liquid level moves up and down, an electrical signal of the position is generated, but these electrical signals are usually not standard. The level transmitter converts these non-standard electrical signals into standard electrical signals (such as 4- 20mA, 0- 10V, etc.) through the circuit. The output signal of the level transmitter is a continuous electrical signal that can accurately reflect the real-time changes of the liquid level.
Application scenarios
Liquid level switch: The liquid level switch is widely used in scenarios that require simple high and low liquid level control. It is usually used to control the automatic replenishment or discharge control of liquids. Such as water tanks and oil tanks, or the start and stop of equipment such as solenoid valves and water pumps.
Liquid level transmitter: Due to its ability to output standard electrical signals, the liquid level transmitter is suitable for scenarios that require accurate measurement and remote monitoring of liquid levels, such as industrial automation control systems, environmental monitoring, drinking water systems, water level overflow weirs, pump stations, and liquid tank level measurement.
